Champion – “IKKIS TI Candon” Float Awarding 

City Mayor Eric D. Singson beams with pride as the bespoke trophy is held beside him—marking Candon City’s Grand Champion victory in the 127th Philippine Independence Day Parada ng Kalayaan Historical Float Design Competition, awarded during the prestigious ceremonies at Malacañang Palace, led by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and First Lady Louise “Liza” Araneta Marcos on Wednesday, July 10, 2025.

Congresswoman Kristine Singson-Meehan, together with City Vice Mayor Kristelle Singson; City Councilors Eric “Owen” Singson Jr., Lerisa Llanes, and George Valdez; Executive Assistant to the Mayor Tony Gagarin; City Legal Officer Edsel Abella; and Eduard Yu, designer of the award-winning Ikkis ti Candon (Cry of Candon) float, also graced the momentous occasion.

Also, part of the Candon City delegation was City Information Officer and Parada ng Kalayaan 2025 Coordinator Leoncio Balbin Jr., along with Tobacco Festival dancers Lea Manzano and Jera Mei Castillo.
