VOLLEYBALL | The Alas Pilipinas Men’s Volleyball team returns to its home court as it competes in the Southeast Asian Men’s V.League from July 9 to 13 in Candon City, Ilocos Sur.

Riding momentum from strong performances in the Alas Pilipinas Invitationals and the AVC Men’s Nations Cup in Bahrain, the national squad aims to surpass its two bronze finishes from last year and build confidence ahead of the 2025 FIVB Men’s World Championship, which the Philippines will host from September 12 to 28.

The competition heats up as the Philippines faces a stacked field, including two-leg champions Indonesia and Thailand, last year’s bronze medalist Vietnam, and newly promoted Cambodia, which topped the 2024 SEA V.League Challenge over Malaysia, Laos, and Singapore.

A total prize pool of $55,000 (P3.15 million) is at stake, with the champion receiving $13,000 (P743,000), runner-up $12,000 (P686,000), the third placer gets $11,000 (P628,000), the fourth $10,000 (P571,000), while the fifth finisher receives $9,000 (P514,000).
