Summer time is art time in Candon City!
The MDS Heritage Music Foundation in cooperation with the Candon City Musical Project through the aid of Congressman Eric D. Singson initiated a Summer Music Training Program to promote the City through music and at the same time, establish a harmonious environment for passionate artists and musicians.
The training program started on April 7 held at Marian Hall, Saint Joseph Institute, Candon City with the cooperation of Sr. Nela Ramirez, SPC, directress. Delegates came from different schools of the Department of Education (District 1 and 2) having both teachers and students from high school and elementary level with the approval of Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Edna C. Leal, CESO V.
The MDS Heritage Music Foundation hosted three different musical organizations namely, Candon City Chorale, Candon City Children’s Choir, and Candon City Chamber Orchestra along with the wind section of which delegates shall be considered members from one of the three organizations mentioned. Moreover, teachers of the training are composed of scholars and volunteers of the foundation with the help of professionals from different fields of music to name- Professors Jorge Joy Sababan (violin), Ernesto de los Reyes (Bass) Edgardo Silangcruz (flute), Leif Garret Concepcion (Clarinet & saxophone), and Melissa Taqueban (piano).
As a result of the training, there will be a recital (culminating activity) on the 25th of May 2014 which will be held at the plaza kiosk, Candon City.
