The recently concluded revisiting of the Executive Legislative Agenda (ELA) produced the 8-point agenda of Candon City for the next two years and beyond.
The ELA revisit held at Hotel Luna, Vigan City was attended by the City Officials, city department heads and representatives from the aligned government agencies, private and NGO
City Mayor Ericson Singson and City Vice Mayor Alfonso Singson led the city officials.
Congressman Eric Singson was the main speaker while Vigan City Mayor Eva Marie Medina came over for her welcome remarks and shared some of her city’s main programs and projects.
City Mayor Singson, in his video aided message, explained the city’s programs and projects starting the ELA done in July 2013 held in Baguio City.
He cited the necessity of the revisiting citing recent developments like the supposed scrapping of the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) and tobacco excise tax (RA 7171).
He also cited the bigger concern on the impacts of natural distractions caused by climate change and other reasons.
“This ELA workshop is expected to produce the clear road map of development of our city,” he said.
Singson said there is a need for short, medium and long term blueprints to achieve our vision/mission particularly as one of the leading economic and trade players of the region.
In the crafted eight point agenda, it listed the safeguarding of well-being of Candonians, Safety and Security, food security, trade and tourism, green governance, efficient built environment, strengthen local autonomy and legislative partnership.
