The City Government of Candon, under the leadership of City Mayor Eric D. Singson, proudly garnered three major governance awards from the Provincial Government of Ilocos Sur and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), reaffirming the city’s commitment to people-centered and child-friendly governance.

2025 Local Council for the Protection of Children (LCPC) Functionality Assessment

-HIGH Level of Functionality

2025 Local Committee on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children (LCAT-VAWC) Assessment

-Passed the 2025 Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit (CFLGA)

These recognitions were received by CSWDO Alma Gabor, CHO Dr. Joy Villanueva, and Maribel Galima on behalf of the city.

In addition, two dedicated Child Development Workers—Emelita A. Ramos of Allangigan 1st and Marites J. Dulay of Allangigan 2nd—were honored with Service Awards for their unwavering commitment to early childhood development.
