ABOUT THE SERVICE: The purpose of this service is to diagnose and treat illness and give appropriate medical services. Service is available at the City Health Office (CHO) to any person/individual who needs medical assistance.

AVAILING OF REPRODUCTIVE TRACT EXAMINATIONS


ABOUT THE SERVICE: The CHO runs an aggressive reproductive tract health program, especially for workers in the entertainment industry. The purpose of the program is to identify and treat clients with Sexually Transmissible Infections. Those who pass the examinations are given a Health Card.

AVAILING OF IMMUNIZATION SERVICES


ABOUT THE SERVICE: The purpose of this service is to immunize children 0 to 11 months old from 7 immunizable diseases. The CHO also immunizes pregnant mothers to prevent the occurrence of Tetanus Neonatorum in infants. This service is provided free.

ABOUT THE SERVICE: The CHO provides a comprehensive maternal care program for pregnant and lactating mothers. The service is free.

ABOUT THE SERVICE: The CHO manages a Family Planning Program. This is available, for free, to all clients.

AVAILING ANTI-TB DRUGS /ANTI- LEPROSY DRUGS


ABOUT THE SERVICE: The CHO manages an anti-tuberculosis and Leprosy Control Program. The purpose is to identify and treat patients with tuberculosis (TB) and Leprosy. Drugs and medicine are provided free-of-charge.

SECURING HEALTH / MEDICAL CERTIFICATE


ABOUT THE SERVICE: Firms and government agencies may require Health Certificates from certain persons. This is especially true for those who are applying for a driver’s license with the Land Transportation Office (LTO) and people seeking employment. Schools also require students to secure a Medical Certificate before they are allowed to enrol.

LABORATORY HEALTH SERVICES


ABOUT THE SERVICE: The City Health Office provides Laboratory health services for specimen testing and analysis as may be required by a physician. The service includes, Urinalysis, Fecalysis, CBC, Hgb, Hct, Blood typing, Hepa B, FBS, Skin Smear, Sputum Exam, Drug Testing and other laboratory examinations.

ABOUT THE SERVICE: This service is available to pre-school and school-age children, pregnant mothers and other adults to prevent and treat periodontal diseases. Clients may avail of the service at the CHO on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

ABOUT THE SERVICE: The City Health Office extends services on nutrition counselling to the people of Candon who are in need of nutritional advices and guidance especially on nutritional status of their children.

AVAILING OF SANITATION AND ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES FOR SAFE AND POTABLE DRINKING WATER


ABOUT THE SERVICE: Provision of safe and potable drinking water will prevent the community from different water-borne diseases and eventually promote/improve their quality of life. The City Health Office provides services for Site Selection of drinking water supply sources, Certificate of Potability of Drinking Water Supply Sources for water refilling stations, Site Inspection for water refilling stations, issuance of Sanitary Permit and disinfection or chlorination of drinking water sources if found positive with contamination.

ABOUT THE SERVICE: Food handlers play an important role in the preparation, handling, protection and storage of foods. Food handlers, therefore, shall be free from any diseases that can be transmitted through the food they prepare, cook and serve.

ABOUT THE SERVICE: Improper preparation, handling, protection and storage of foods may cause food spoilage which eventually causes food-borne diseases, food poisoning and food intoxication. It is therefore important that all establishments especially food establishments must comply with the regulations and secure Sanitary Permit.

AVAILING OF FOGGING OPERATION TO DENGUE ENDEMIC SCHOOL AND BARANGAY


ABOUT THE SERVICE: Dengue remains to be one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality. It is a serious public health problem in our country. Diseases highly prone to endemics like dengue fever, diseases management is always complimented by vector control such as space spraying (fogging). It aims to reduce the infective adult vector population &/or reduce the life span of the infective adult female preventing the transmission of the parasite or virus to susceptible host
