ACCESSING TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE IN CROP PRODUCTION


ABOUT THE SERVICE: The City Agriculture’s Office (CAO) provides farm input assistance. Assistance comes in the form of certified seeds, fertilizers (although the use of organic fertilizers is being encourage) and herbicides. The cost of inputs is considered as loan and must be paid by the client after harvest. The farmer must approach the Agricultural Technologist (AT) assigned to the barangay for assistance.

FARMERS TRAINING ON RICE AND CORN


ABOUT THE SERVICE: The service is extended to the members of farmers association on the barangay level. It is a once a week Farmers Field School for 16 weeks (4 months) regarding rice and corn productions. The period covers the planting procedures until harvesting time.

ISSUANCE OF AGRICULTURAL CERTIFICATE


ABOUT THE SERVICE: The office issues agricultural certificates to farmers associations or individual members of the association for general purposes. Only legitimate members of the farmers association are allowed to secure agricultural certificate.

REGISTRATION OF MOTORIZED BANCA


ABOUT THE SERVICE: The Ordinance Number 449 or an ordinance requiring the registration and licensing of city fisher folk, fishing vessels and fishing gears mandates the City Agriculture Office (CAO) to supervise in the registration of fishing vessel and other fishing materials.
