 P/Supt Emmanuel Reyes Newly installed Officer- In- Charge Chief of Police P/Supt. Emmanuel Reyes immediately plunged into action. His first target is to put break on the increasing motorcycle accidents happening around the city. “We need to strengthen checkpoints as one way to solve the most prevalent concern of the city today which is the motorcycle accidents,” Reyes said.
Reyes, member of Philippine National Police Academy Kapanalig Class 1997, took charge as OIC Chief of Police replacing former Acting P/Chief Insp. Marlo Castillo who is now assign at the Ilocos Sur Police Provincial Office. Reyes, 34, is the former Deputy Chief of the Regional Personnel and Human Resource Doctrines Division of the Regional Police Office before he came over. He said that he had very nice feedback of the city’s peace and order situation before he came over which he said turn out to be true. The city is one of the most peaceful and orderly city in the whole region. “I am very much willing to work with the city officials, citizenry for the maintenance of the City’s peace and order situation,” Reyes said He expressed his appreciation to the warm and full backing of the city officials led by City Mayor Allen Singson and Deputy Speaker Eric Singson when he made his courtesy calls them respectively. Reyes who is in his first assignment as chief of police is a seasoned field officer. He had practically occupied all posts at the Regional Mobile Group. In his first few days in the Candon City Police Station, he said that he did not have hard time adjusting because most of the new and junior policemen assigned in the station were under him or he himself personally trained. Reyes said that he maintained the current designations of his personnel. Changes in designation will be done he said as he tries to evaluate the performances of his men.
